CALL OUT to artist/ARI members and allies 1940 to NOW to share your ARI story so far. ‘Everything you wanted to know about us’.
Please email your story, images, captions, MP4/ MP3 audio or video story [up to 12 minutes] contextual info – eg. BIOS- to us.
We have just launched our new 2026 ACF fundraising campaign. So hopefully we can offer a modest artist fee later in 2026 based on current NAVA recommendations. Mostly contributions to this living archives are voiuntary.

ARI Remix is a community-based and participatory heritage internet artwork as ‘living archives’ progressing and mapping ‘at risk’ Queensland/ Australian Artist Run Culture and Heritage 1940 to Now.
The Queensland/Australian ARI Remix transmedia project is an ongoing collaborative and interactive eresource mapping the largely unmapped diversity of the 1940 to NOW Queensland Artist-Run Initiative Scene. In this rolling stage three project we ‘go national’. Presenting the untold stories of the artists, co-creatives, peers and cohorts who together built upon, extended, broadened and re-imagined the foundations of 1970’s ARI experimental art scene.
ARI REMIX 2011-2032 Testimonial example;
By way of a current testimonial about the value of ARI Remix in the changing and evolving cultural data landscape. The UNSW leading Australian Creative Histories and Futures (ACHF) has identified the significant contribution we are making as an informal ‘ARI Remix Collective’ to organisational change processes underway now. The ACHF is a four‑year research infrastructure initiative being developed by researchers in the UNSW School of the Arts & Media, in collaboration with the Australian Research Data Commons (ARDC) and university and industry partners across the country. This timely project aims to enable greater interoperability between fragmented cultural databases and to better support research and understanding of the Australian cultural data landscape. They have prepared a ‘landscape report’ and are in the process of publishing a public version. Significantty, the ARI Remix Project is referenced in the report as a valuable community-led archive, and as an illustration of a ‘living archives’ in the Australian cultural data ecosystem. The report will be made freely available online for non‑commercial educational and sector‑development purposes. Stay tuned!
