A Centre For Everything
WHAT
A Centre for Everything is an independent creative and pedagogical project that engages individuals and communities to learn, create, discuss and eat together. Their collaborative events bring together diverse topics as performances, presentations, workshops, readings, discussions, demonstrations, critiques and meals.
As the name suggests, their program incorporates an unwieldy range of interests. Recurring themes include active responses to current political issues, game-play and its application to wider modes of social behaviour, collective creativity and the intersection of artistic, social and pedagogical thinking.
Sit and listen, eat and talk, play and make with like and unlike-minded adults.
WHO
Founded in 2012 by artists Will Foster and Gabrielle de Vietri, the program operates in collaboration with guest presenters, guest programmers and a handful of volunteers. We invite scientists, artists, ecologists, journalists, teachers, thinkers, activists and more to become part of our socially-engaged, intellectually-stimulated, creative-community.
The triadic program is open to everyone, on a first-come basis. Participants are artists and non-artists, friends and strangers, academics and enthusiasts, specialists and generalists. A Centre for Everything distributes power, encourages transgression and utilises collaboration to incite transformative learning experiences.
