Annie Long
BIO
Annie Long grew up in Sydney, Australia. While drawing and painting, she studied and worked in the areas of health and psychology. She spent three years in Europe, mainly Italy and Spain continuing to develop her art practice through private tuition. Since completing an Advanced Diploma in Ceramics in 2002 on the Sunshine Coast, she has concentrated on sculpture and started exhibiting professionally. She completed a degree in Visual Arts (3D) with Honours in 2016 at Southern Cross University, expanding her art practice to explore multimedia sculptures and installations as well as independent curating. Travel and work in international language education have informed recurrent themes of the journey (both inner and outer), the nomad and the migrant. In recent years, exploration into local stories and the local environment have become an increasing inspiration for her art practice. She has exhibited in both solo and group shows in Australia as well as Japan and Italy.
