BIO

Ann-Maree Reaney is a practising visual artist exhibiting at a state, national and international level. She has been awarded international, national and state awards including the DAAD German government scholarship to undertake research in Berlin and several artist-in-residencies in Paris and China through the Visual Arts Crafts Board of the Australia Council, Arts Queensland and the Cite Internationale des Arts.

 

She was Senior Lecturer in Sculpture at the University of Southern Queensland, Australia, from 1996 – 2009 including Head of the School of Visual Arts 2004-2006. Ann-Maree co-curated the public art for Brisbane Powerhouse Centre for the Live Arts (1999) and was curator of integrated public art at the Institute of Tertiary and Further Education (TAFE) in Toowoomba (2002) and co-curated the Pathways Project (2006) resulting in integrated public artworks in 9 regional centres in Queensland for the Department of Families and Communities, Queensland Government.

 

Her work has been exhibited in Paris, Berlin, London, Singapore, Sharjah and numerous galleries and artspaces in Australia.She has been a guest speaker at universities and art organisations in New Zealand, Singapore, India, France, Germany and England. She was a contributing writer for the bilingual book Public Art+Practice:East+West compiled by Martha Liew, IS publishing, Hong Kong, in 2001. Ann-Maree is currently undertaking a PhD at the School of Art, University of Tasmania.
