WHO

Amelia

I am quite lame, but you know… I try???????? I just want everyone to live out and enact their passion in their life and think that people shouldn’t be gatekept by institutional power.

Noam Headshot.png

Noam:

Generally confuddled by their conservative christian coming-of-age that got queered up and nerodiversified, Noam has suffered from an obsessive compulsion to be good and do good, and what that means and looks like to other people.

Marisa:

I’ve been around a while but never really worked out how I’m meant to be in the scene. What even is networking I don’t understand? I hate how capitalism seems to have infused every crevice of experience… ew, get out of me!

WHEN

Now

WHERE

Meeanjin Brisbane.

WHY

We are three artists practising in Meanjin/Brisbane who are keen to talk and write about how our local art industry works. We started at the beginning of the pandemic, then sorta got tired, but are now reviving slowly. We are full of love for our scene but think it still has some knots to work out.

BVAA pays our respects to the traditional custodians of the Country on which we live, work, play and create, the Jagera and Turrbal people, and acknowledge the valuable cultural contributions of Indigenous artists across the nation.
