ELDERS: LONG LIVES, WELL LIVED | 1998 to Now | Queer Archival Excerpts | Australian Artist Paul Andrew

Building on prior queer research experiences the ELDERS: Long Lives, Well-Lived project began as a pilot online documentary project in 2000-2004. Funding for explicitly queer media and arts-based projects were under-supported in Australia in this cultural moment and the project was not successful in securing funds. In this section archival excerpts from the pilot are re-represented. I am immensely grateful to both the City of Port Phillip for seed funding and the participants who kindly shared their initial oral histories to help get this archival initiative off the ground.

The pilot was launched at the Seniors Festival at St Kilda Library in March 2002.
