Biography
Gia Mitchell is a Photographic Artist, Costume Designer, Stylist, Performer and Wig Maker with 30 years’ experience in creative industries. Having recently returned to her Queensland roots after a decade working in London, she brings a diverse portfolio of projects to the party encompassing visual arts, live theatre, fashion, film and television, and the alternate club scene.
The experience of being a transgender woman has strongly influenced Gia’s creative practices; and continues to drive collaborations with Queer and marginalized communities. This intersectionality of experience has borne fruit in her current role as Key Creative and Company Manager with Australian alternate theatre company Briefs Factory; the culmination of a relationship that began in the UK in 2016.
