I worked with a number of ARI’s in an advisory role primarily in the promotions and marketing of their events and fundraising activities. I raised funds for several in the 1980’s including The Observatory. The House of Wack Gallery (Newstead 2003 – 2004) was a commercially run venture that welcomed local artists and offered gallery / exhibition space for free. I worked with Camp Fire Group and David Paulson in 1988.

During my tenure with Arts Queensland I promoted the activities of numerous ARI’s including Juggler’s Artspace, CoCA, Backing Indigenous Arts, ProppaNow, Boxcopy, Accidentally Annie Street,The Wandering Room, InBetweenSpaces, The Fort.

I feel that the ARI Remix Project is an invaluable resource that has plotted the history of significant periods in Brisbane’s cultural development. The archives and memories are particularly important as they document the activities of artists during a period of great social, political and cultural change that impacted the lives of many.
