Hi I’m Joanna – Studio Manager at Lismore Art Space. I’ve been collaborating with the Remix Project and Remix Project Co-Ordinator Paul Andrew for the last two years, and intensively during the past two months.

The crew here at the art space are really excited to be working with this ARI analogue to digital heritage project and pleased to support this bold online mapping of Australia’s unique and diverse Artist- Run Culture.

About Lismore Art Space:

Lismore Art Space is a recently renovated two story warehouse space in Lismore that has been custom designed with artists & creative industries in mind. Large light filled areas, communal spaces, outdoor work areas and gardens as well as two dedicated printmaking studios.

Renovated and set up by local photographer, Ted Harvey, LAS is a large art space with five separate studios, garden and communal areas in which to work.

Full time operation of the art space began in 2010 by Joanna Kambourian, who, as a result of a successful Australia Council for the Arts ArtStart grant, was able to take on the full time management of the space. L.A.S has since hosted a number of local artists, creatives, events and exhibitions.

Our vision is to provide a specialist studio environment for printmakers & designers as well as other artists & creatives wishing to work in a communal and collaborative environment. We also have a strong focus on supporting emerging artists through exhibitions, workshops, residencies and mentoring.

Our Philosophy is based on Co-working principals and the desire to provide creative collaboration opportunities within a studio environment.

Artists and Creatives of all kinds are welcome to apply to become a member of the Lismore Art Space to access the co-working space and utilise the studio for their own practice.
