MEAT MIRROR Jay Younger | A performance activated multimedia installation | Opening Night PERFORMANCE 6pm Saturday 8th May 2021

Jay Younger & Lisa O’Neill
Ever wondered how dangerous Kim Kardashian’s booty is? Stay tuned for Jay Younger & Lisa O’Neill’s MEAT MIRROR at Mappin’s in May.

” The Four Corners story “Beauty’s New Normal”, focused attention on a Mcdonald’s approach to selling cosmetic surgery where some businesses locate their premises next door to Centrelinks and target impoverished divorced single women promoting breast implant surgery on a payment plan of $5 a day (supposedly for the price of a cup of coffee).”

Jay Younger & Lisa O’Neill’s artistic collaboration exposes the ‘insidious’ role of social media gaslighting women to undergo unnecessary, and at times life-threatening cosmetic surgery.

The 10-minute performance-activated multi-media installation throws ‘beauty’, humour, butchery, gullibility, satire and horror into the blender and presses ‘go’. Taking the Brazilian Butt Lift as its subject, MEAT MIRROR questions “beauty’s new normal” in a surreal aquatic wonderland at Mappin’s Nursery.
