Ted Riggs – Knowledge, Lies, Truth – E.A.J.R 1954 – 1990 a memoir by Jennifer Riggs

A brief memory by Jennifer Riggs:

The Title?

A room-sized installation piece by Edward (Ted) Riggs exhibited in Sydney in the 1980s. As was his way, no explanatory program notes; it was for us to make of it what we would.

That is what I attempt in this all too short biography.

Knowledge was lacking in his early days but later he used to say to us: “My problem is dyslexia. Their problem is understanding it”.

Fortunately some did, but sadly, some did not, and that is where the lies, the untruths, reared their ugly heads.

His truth lives on.
