We at ARI Remix collective hope all is as well as can be as this third issue of our Ten Year Anniversary newsletter series ker-plonks into your desktop. We are thrilled to bits to be celebrating ten years of collaborative memory work this year.
For many artists this shared Covid experience has been a good time for adding personal stories to this ongoing archival art initiative. Sifting through analogue digital archives and relocating hidden artists’ ephemera from a rich history of artist-run culture in South East Queensland, regional Queensland and into fabulous urban and regional precincts beyond.
Accessing, re-activating, re-presenting and re-situating personal archives including photo proof sheets, newsletters, exhibition documentation, photos, super 8 films, audio interviews and hand made artists’ ephemera is an important aspect of the ongoing memory work we perform.
We thought we’d share a few key ARI news items and links, personal reflections and memory highlights this month from current ARI activities. We have added in a selection of recent and past examples too.
