The Brisbane Collective

Cofounders Megan-Starr Thomas & Jeff Paton

The Brisbane Collective are a volunteer based arts initiative supporting emerging creatives in South East Queensland through pop-up art exhibitions, workshops and our own creative street press magazine. Established 2013.

Cofounders

Megan Starr-Thomas

As the founding frontrunner of The Brisbane Collective and To Be Continued Magazine, Megan is the backbone and brains behind this flock of fools. Working as a Graphic Designer, but never actually received her pen license in grade seven, we’re suspicious it’s this datum that inspired the ‘FUCK THE SYSTEM – D.I.Y.’ principals.

Megan has spent countless nights cracking cold cartons of beers to make sure everything runs smoothly. She lives, she breathes, she leads it! Megsy gets shit done! To make things metaphorical, she is the glue holding together all the other slightly cracked pieces of The Brisbane Collective.

Jeff Paton

As the leading XY chromosome of The Brisbane Collective, Jeff is the go-to guy for anything and everything technical. After years in the music industry, he knows how to make stuff sound good and hit things really hard. He’s also the tradie for The Brisbane Collective. He builds set designs and manages the stage, lighting, recording and video production. He also hangs things in the high places. Jeff spends his spare time in his studio building Jenga sets, playing Nintendo and drinking beers.
