The Declaration and Canonisation of Marshall Malouf by Her Divine Holiness Pope Alice is an event that resonates deeply with the Headlands Revisited exhibition at Redland Art Gallery, Cleveland where Marshall’s presence and influence are celebrated.

A beloved figure within the creative community and beyond, Marshall nurtured spaces of welcome, warmth and inclusion, offering countless artists and thinkers a refuge from the rigid and the ordinary.

Marshall met Pope Alice through a close friend, artist, Luke Roberts. Pope Alice sightings and encounters on Minjerribah/North Stradbroke Island are famously captured in various images. Some of these visual connections are portrayed in the exhibition speaking to a shared vision of transformation, healing and joy.

Pope Alice, a living myth and embodiment of otherworldly wisdom, recognises in Marshall a soul who was a healer and leader who triumphed over personal struggle to uplift others.

This performance art celebration is a tribute to Marshall’s legacy as a quiet revolutionary; a person whose life enriched the artistic and spiritual fabric of the community. In honouring him, Pope Alice reminds us that sainthood is not distant or divine, but lived, day by day, in the choices we make, the kindness we offer and the lives we touch. More info>
