TRICIA DOBSON WEAVING CIRCLES | OPEN WEAVE
Tricia’s arts practice includes painting, drawing, printmaking and more recently, weaving with natural fibres and ephemeral artwork. She is also an experienced community cultural development practitioner having worked with diverse communities and cultural groups over many years. She is currently working as a freelance visual artist and arts project coordinator.
At Lines in the Sand North Stradbroke Island, Tricia’s woven Tree Drawings installations on the North Gorge accentuate the negative spaces between branches. The weaving technique suggests a net or trap referencing the trapped feeling many people and animals might have had when the island was burning.
