wotwedid – Beechworth Biennale at the Shepparton Art Festival 2025 – Victoria Cooper, Doug Spowart, Tegan Nash Ollett & Bree Marchbank

Hi Paul

Hoping all is going well with you,,,

We’ve been quite self absorbed – a range of things … terrible hot weather over summer with days of catastrophic fire risk, even packing up the car and getting out of town for a few days…!

Then we’ve been working a sound artist and a performance artist on a big project to be presented at the Beechworth Biennale and now, at the Shepparton Art Festival. Our work was large format video presentation that became the muse en stage for the installlation and the performance. SEE attached photo …image1.jpegimage2.jpeg

Ours for the Making, collaborative installation

SITE 11: The Old Priory Town Hall

A channel of clay leaves that feels both architectural and organic—overseen by suspended rice-paper veils that catch light, shadow, and projection like memory skins.

The work enters into dialogue with the site’s ecclesiastical history. The channel suggests ritual and offering, acknowledging its close relationship to nature, while the veils evoke garments, shrouds, and thresholds. Projection animates the space slowly, asking viewers to linger rather than consume.

The sound and the overall installation invite contemplation of time, care, and the residue of human gesture—where gathering becomes an act of devotion, and what remains is both material and memory.
