Ten local Artist-Run-Initiatives (ARIs) are taking up residence in our level 3 studios!

Metro Arts, Metro Arts, With Love. From February 1 to February 15, we’re celebrating Metro Arts’ 40-year history and saying farewell to our iconic building here at 109 Edward Street.

Alongside theatre performances, we have a number of visual arts events throughout the festival.

On level 1, see Ephemera, a newly commissioned 40-channel video installation celebrating the art, objects, and ephemera that have inhabited Metro Arts, as seen through the eyes of the people who made it.
In our gallery spaces on level 2, see Courtney Coombs’ exhibition The Time of Light respond to the unique role of light in Metro Arts’ galleries.
In our level 3 studio spaces you will find AIRspace, where 10 ARI’s from Brisbane are taking up residency.

Finally, in the Lumen Room from February 11 to February 14, Loop responds to a curated selection of single-channel video works by local and national artists.
