Award winning creative Chris McKimmie has died aged 77 years.
McKimmie was an inspiration for many QCA students, professional artists, designers and creatives in Brisbane during the 1980s and 1990s. His iconic and tongue in cheek illustrations of Brisbane captured the hearts of many. Chris was an ardent support of Brisbane’s thriving artist run culture in the 1980s. He was instrumental in supporting independent musicians and bands including The Lamingtons and Wondrous Fair. He was involved in numerous DIY exhibition projects including ‘Tiny Town’. Chris will be sadly missed. Sending our sincerest condolences to Chris’s family, friends, colleagues and students.
