Thankyou, thankyou, thankyou to the ever amazing Caitlin Sheedy who has been working in persistent and ongoing ways to put community back into the IMA. A truly wondrous IMA Zine Fair today. Deepest gratitude to everyone who kindly came along to celebrate and actively support DIY arts-based self publishing.

This event marks the end of a three year project “Self-Made, Artist Run: 25 artists 25 DIY zines ” generously funded by both Arts Queensland and Creative Australia. Due to enthusiastic support from so many artists and ARI members -past, present, emerging – we ended up making 62 zines and a few more to go over coming months. Thanks to everyone who kindly participated and contributed.
Arts Funding and arts philanthropy permitting we may well be back in 2025 with Part Two of the EXTRA ZINE: ANTHOLOGY series. Reflecting, recovering, retrieving and making zines about ARI culture and heritage 1970 to Now together over these fabbbuuulllloooouuusss fun fuelled three years has been more than joy!
