Bulletin #70 Out Now

After the official launch of Bulletin #70 at our Leaving Your Legacy: A Guide for Australian Artists forum on Saturday, the digital version is now available for download.

This special edition was put together by guest editors Caroline Phillips and Rachel Weinberg to coincide with our forum and extend the conversation around estate planning for artists.

The range of articles in this issue reflects the differing points of connection to the proximity of end-of-life decision-making that occurs across generations. We also see a particular gendered lens, through the voices of a number of women artists and curators, as well as projects that explore the legacy of a queer perspective.

Artists Louise Forthun, Sadie Chandler, Jan Murray, Samara Adamson-Pinczewski and Kristin Headlam discuss the concept of legacy with Rachel Weinberg, alongside advice from Gallery Director Charles Nodrum; Merren Ricketson narrates the legacy of Jennifer Phipps through the Oceania Women’s Fund; Catherine Bell investigates and draws inspiration from the archives of sculptor Daphne Mayo; and Paul Andrew outlines the development and impact of the ARI Remix Living Archives & Social Memory Project.

If you are interested in purchasing a hard copy, please get in touch. We have a limited number available at $10 members | $15 non-members.

The Women’s Art Register is a not-for-profit and volunteer-run archive, community and public resource, operating since 1975.
