Acknowledging Writer Phyllis Woolcock | Writer, Art Critic & ARI Supporter | A 1980s Tribute Page

Phyllis Woolcock was an art critic for the Courier Mail when we met. Her role at the time at this publication was to continue in the footsteps of her predecessor Dr. Gertrude Langer. Phyllis was an ardent supporter of Brisbane Meeanjin artist run spaces throughout the 1980s and believed they provided an important contrast to the commercial galleries. As a writer Phyllis contributed to many publications including The Bulletin, The Australian Home Journal among others. This memory post is a collection of newspaper clippings from Brisbane based artists and creatives. Please add a digital copy of your clipping in the thread below with any details and descriptions you have so we can grow this post. Thanks so much:)
