The Instant Imaging Exhibition (1991)
Instant Imaging explored computer-generated and electronic media art by Queensland artists. These artists formed an integral part of Brisbane’s growing and evolving artist-run ecosystem.
Including Adam Wolter alongside Mark Davies, Malcolm Enright, Pat Hoffie, Hiram To, Edite Vidins, and John Waller.
The artists highlighted early digital and electronic experimentation in contemporary Australian art during the late 1980s and early 1990s. For example, Wolter’s many collaborative fluxus-like computer-generated prints with artist, zinester and sound poet Nicholas Zurbrugg.
This 1991 exhibition was co-curated by Anne Kirker and Clare Williamson for the Queensland Art Gallery as a broadening of traditional printmaking to include electronic and new media.
