FOCUS ON REDLANDS: Creativity, Coastlines and Community Connections – Community Call Out
Here we are motivated by potential funding for a Redlands Art Project in 2028. One involving local residents – both artists and non-artists- towards the current Queensland’s Time to Shine: a 10-year strategy for arts and culture. 2025-2035. This is a Queensland Government commitment to growing the state’s creative economy. Here we scope interest, community perspectives and artistic potential for a multiform group exhibition and arts funding application in 2027.
Importantly as a prospective 2028 community-based project, or series of three projects if funding is secured, this will involve and embrace community-based artist and non-artist perspectives.

Are you part of the Redlands Community, an artist, creative, artist collective, artist grouping or environmental ally?
Are you a local resident [past, present, current or soon], a non-artist with lived experiences in the region and with thoughts about a better, environmentally-aware, culturally pluralised, identity diverse and more artful future for Redlands?
If so please feel free and most welcome to contribute your memories, comments and stories in this rolling commentaries post below. This will help ARI Remix – a collective of artists ‘1940 to Now’ working together since 2011 – towards a better understanding of our fragile coastlines, community needs, challenges, hopes, dreams, values and agency.
Voluntary contributions, Coastal Liveability Stories and Commentaries Warmly and Heartily Invited and Welcomed: Up to 50-150 words, with up to three images and captions will allow us to gain insight into what a group exhibition may look like, can entail, depict and encompass.
