Hello! Happy Winter, 2025!
I hope your winter is a warm, cosy healthy and creative one ahoy. A big hearty thank you to everyone who has kindly and generously contributed to, shaped and informed ARI Remix activities over the past 15 years.
Coinciding with the 35th anniversary of the decriminalisation of homosexuality in Queensland, this year we draw attention to and present untold stories, hidden histories and marginalised narratives about Queer Trans and multiperspectival LGBTQIA+ communities of practice.
ARI Remix presents Headlands Revisited at the Redland Art Gallery which focuses on a Headlands Circle made possible by artist and community facilitator Marshall Malouf and his artist partner Colin Millar.
Through a collaboration with INKAHOOTS we have made a printed A3 poster zine which presents examples of little stories from Headlands Chalet on Minjerribah. In addition we are making and growing the EXTRA Zine anthology with complementary stories throughout 2025-26.
We are working with the Queensland Museum in a modest and cogent way on the Make A Scene; Fashioning Queer Identity and Club Culture in the 1990s, as well as the Brisbane Pride Collective on their new anthology titled: Queersland. Both are due to be launched in September 2025.
In July we are working with HOTA on a short documentary, and the performance by artist Luke Roberts for the final public program for Headalnds Revisited, stay tuned via the socials here;

A BIG hearty thank you to everyone both far and wide who have so enthusiastically supported our humble yet ongoing crowdfunding effirts since 2019 to help offset annual and ongoing IT and digital infrastructure costs including domain name and web hosting fees, software and WP plugins, securty protocols, digital file share platforms and ubiquitous scanning digitisation processes. CURRENT PROJECT: ARI REMIX PRESENTS: EXTRA ZINE STAGE TWO ‘STORIES WHICH MUST BE TOLD’ 2025-26
ARI REMIX PROJECT 2011-32 is a community informed passion project, a volunteer-based labour of love about the hidden histories, marginalised narratives and ‘at risk’ artists’ ephemera inside Queensland/Australian artist-run culture and heritage.
I acknowledge and respect the Quandamooka First Nations people, Nunukul (Noonuccal, Nunukal), Ngugi (Nughi) and Gorenpul as the Traditional Custodians of Redland City, Wynnum and areas of Moreton Bay including the Bay Islands where I live, co-create and work, where sovereignty was never ceded.

Headlands Revisted forms part of a new, experimental and exploratory archival art initiative ARIs Revisited exhibitions project series in 2025-28, funding permitting :). We are immensely grateful for the support of Redland Art Gallery for staging this initial exhibition and to the Redland RADF Fund for helping us create a poster zine work which introduces the exhibition and public program concept.
